In Revered Memory of
Thomas John Bunt
born at Fowey, Cornwall December 28^th 1857,
died at Portishead, Somerset December 18^th 1929
FOR 44 YEARS A DEVOTED WORKER IN THE SERVICE
OF THE MISSIONS TO SEAMEN IN THE BRISTOL CHANNEL
WHO BY HIS HUMBLENESS OF MIND AND YET STRENGTH
OF CHARACTER WON THE RESPECT AND AFFECTION
OF ALL WITH WHOM HE CAME INTO CONTACT.
THIS STONE IS ERECTED IN AFFECTIONATE REMEMBRANCE
OF A LOYAL SHIPMATE AND CHRISTIAN GENTLEMAN BY
THE RIGHT REV. NORMAN DE JERSEY VD DD
BISHOP OF FALKLAND ISLANDS
WHO WAS FOR 21 YEARS CHAPLAIN IN BRISTOL,
AVONMOUTH AND THE CHANNEL.
